Surfaces are separated by 1px borders on a slightly warm raised fill. Shadows appear only on things that float.
Accent card
The teal accent shows up as a glow on dark, never as a flat fill.

Long-form reading switches to the serif at 17px with generous leading, capped at a 700px column. Secondary color keeps it calm against the display type.
Paragraphs are separated by 18px, not indents.
